Default Other Salts

Is there a reason that Epsom salt
is used instead of "regular" salt?

I have never seen any info on this,
and In Lilly's book "The Center of the
Cyclone", he refers to a tank that
he built that used circulating
sea-water.

Yes,

Epsom salt is very soft for the skin.
It can be easily dissolved in water so the water can be hight saturated (800lbs in 10 inch of water)
