Default How often to replace epsom salts?

I plan on building a tank one day, but am curious whether the 800 to 1000lbs of Epsom Salts needs to refreshed often? As you mentioned, it is pricey, though okay for a one time expense. How often should the tank be emptied and cleaned? (Hopefully, not often

Also, how does one keep the water clean...not chlorine, right?

If filtered and treated well, should last forever. Use spa chlorine type.

I have a epsom solution for one year and it is clean as the first day. I filter about 1 time a month

I filter every day for an hour. Sometimes twice a day. I have a monstrous jacuzzi pump. This helps keep the water clean and the water temp even. In the past I used bromine, but now I use a couple of tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide once a week. I haven't read any studies that specify exactly how long you should keep the same solution, but commercial places usually change it once a year. One place said you could use it up to 3 years.
