Default Epsom Salt as a Laxative

Hello I was told by my Husband(he is a physical trainer) that Epsom Salt can be used as a Laxative, which it is true because I have tried it.

My question is what does it really do within the body? Does burn the fat in the body, how does that work?

I have also used epsom salt, but to do a liver detox it worked very well. My understanding of how it works is in the case of floating the magnesium soaks through your skin and chemicaly relaxes your muscles, also that epsom salt has the natural tendency of attracting carbon based molecules and substances therefore it draws the natural toxins being excreted through your skin out at a more rapid rate. Also an osmosis type situation occures because of the concentration of sodium on one side of a membrain trying to even out the osmotic presssure of an extreme saline environment with a not so saline environment. This may also have to do with its laxative quality by relaxing the muscular structure of organs like the stomach, then extracting toxins and water into the digestive system and letting your body excrete them. Not completely sure but I think thats close. Also check the book of floating I think it has some info.
